Hello I’m Natalie.

I’m an 80’s baby born and raised in East London and I’m a huge lover of food, laughter and music.

I was brought up on good old TV programmes like ‘Rainbow, Thundercats, Top of the pops and The Cosby Show’.

Music then and now has dominated my life and I’m glad for it. I lived for ‘Bros, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Aaliyah and Jodeci’. If I continue my fingers will catch a massive cramp!

Alongside the Pop, R&B, Hip Hop and Jungle; there was and still is ‘Calypso and Soca’ (this is a genre of music typically from Trinidad, Barbados, Antigua, St Lucia and other islands in the Caribbean).

My parents and the majority of my family members are from Barbados 🇧🇧 and they have all done a great job instilling Bajan values in me. I was born here in the UK but feel very much a part of Barbados. I love my island. So much so that the Bajan Gods must had felt my vibrations and heard my thoughts when they introduced me to my now husband who happens to be Bajan.

I mean, jackpot!

We got married after long distance courting for 3 years. Hubby sacrificed the sunshine to be with me a year after we got married. We were pregnant a month after he arrived 😂😂😂 no kidding!

9 months later we welcomed our son into the world. I still can’t believe it! I was in awe of this little human. The following year we were blessed again. We had our baby girl. I’m still in shock!  These two very well spirited beings are the ones who call me mummy and karate kick me in the bed at night. I love ’em. They are the backbone of my life and I am above grateful for them. They drive me crazy, make me laugh, outwit me, melt my heart, deprive me of food and sleep but I seriously wouldn’t have it any other way…I lied, I want my sleep back!!!

So that’s my introduction of me.

I hope you enjoy what I have to add to the ‘Bloggiverse’. I think I just created a word. Let me go and check Google 😜.

Enjoy.xx
